Melanie Finkel has over 25 years of commercial and real estate litigation experience in New York. Melanie began her legal career at Brown Raysman Millstein Felder & Steiner LLP and Thelen LLP and most recently was Of Counsel to Trokie Landau LLP. She represents clients in connection with commercial and business litigation matters and real estate litigation including mortgage foreclosure and alternatives to foreclosure providing strategic advice regarding mortgage modifications, deeds in lieu of foreclosure and short sales.
Melanie also represents clients on real estate transactions including the purchase and sale of homes and will work with you on every step of the transaction.
Melanie is qualified to accept judicial appointments as a Receiver and/or Referee in foreclosure actions pending in the Bronx, Kings, New York, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties and qualified to accept judicial appointments as a Guardian ad litem in matters pending in the Bronx and Westchester counties, and is also a part-time Hearing Officer for the City of New York.
Melanie is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Westchester County Bar Association and is Co-Chair Real Property Committee, the Westchester Women’s Bar Association and is Co-chair Real Property Committee, the White Plains Bar Association and the Justice Brandeis Law Society
Melanie lectures at programs for attorneys on real estate topics including the mortgage foreclosure process in New York and alternatives to foreclosure including short sales, deeds in lieu of foreclosure and mortgage modifications and on debt collection and the enforcement of judgments.
